Vic & Tasmanian IB Diploma Coordinators Network

The Victorian/Tasmanian IBDP Co-ordinators Network is a highly collegial group which meets once per term. Members discuss current developments, explore questions, share best practice and raise matters as appropriate with the IB and its representatives. The group is open to authorised and candidate IBDP co-ordinators. We welcome and value contributions from new and experienced members.

Activities & services

In addition to meeting quarterly to share best practice and offer advice and assistance, the group hosts of two key recognition events each year, by rotation. The IBDP Awards Evening is held each February to acknowledge the outstanding achievement and talent of the previous year’s IB Diploma Programme graduates, held at Federation Square. Certificates of Distinction are presented to those who achieved an IB Diploma score of 40 points or more. The IBDP Art Exhibition is organised by the Visual Arts teacher network. The exhibition is held at the Glen Eira City Council Gallery for three weeks each year to showcases an exciting range of student artwork from the IB Diploma Visual Arts subject.

The Victorian/Tasmanian IBDP Coordinators’ Network also supports the establishment and regularly meeting of subject specific networks for IBDP teachers. Currently there are subject networks in existence for English A: Literature, Spanish ab initio, Economics, Geography, History, Psychology, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Visual Arts and Theory of Knowledge (TOK). Specific events have also been hosted by network schools including subject workshops.
