Our Purpose

The Victorian PYP Network seeks to model and foster the ideals and philosophy of the IB through its actions and the provision of information, meetings and professional development opportunities that promote professional learning and encourage communication between members.

The Victorian PYP Network supports PYP schools in Victoria and Tasmania, Australia

There are currently over 80 member schools with membership drawn from candidate, authorised and evaluated schools across a range of education sectors – government, independent, Catholic, Islamic and Jewish.

Every year, we offer a varied calendar of events that cater to a range of audiences designed to help strengthen the leadership, teaching and learning in our schools.

South East Queensland PYP Network

Activities & services

Our network meets quarterly to collaborate, share and support. Additionally, we host a number of sharing and networking days for teachers in Queensland PYP Schools.

PYP Perth Coordinators Network

October 2, 2024

This group meets quarterly to share programmes and initiatives.  We are a small yet supportive network who welcome new members and candidate schools in Western Australia.

Activities & services

This group encourages staff to visit each others schools in order to share practice and promote collegiality.  We also have a sharing platform where we place new planners and support material for one another.

PYP Arts Hub Group Network

It is with great excitement that we introduce the PYP Arts Hub Group Network, based in South Australia.

Ms Gabrielle Corbett and Dr Loretta Bowshall-Freeman, are the Co-Directors of the PYP Arts Hub Group Network, who currently lead 80 participants across South Australia.

We would love the opportunity to expand our group to a wider audience, across Australasia, and greatly appreciate your interest and support with the PYP Arts Hub Group Network.

Statement of Purpose:
“The PYP Arts Hub Group Network is a professional learning community of Arts Educators who empower each other through collaboration and sharing of best practice in Arts Education across all Arts Learning Areas. We meet once each term (x4 per year) and embrace a flexible format, which enables an inspiring, supportive, collegial environment.”

Details for our online May Zoom conference are:

Date: 25 May 2021

Commencement at 9:00am (Adelaide, South Australia Time)

Concluding at 12:00pm (Adelaide, South Australia Time)

Focus: Strategies for implementing and developing the understanding of and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, and languages within the Arts within an online learning context; providing concrete useful learning tools for teachers and their IB PYP students.

NSW PYP Coordinators Network

October 2, 2024

This group meets quarterly in IB Schools to discuss IB programmes and support them in our schools. The group is open to all interested, candidate and authorised IB World School PYP Coordinators or their delegates.

Activities & services

This group runs teacher network days to compliment (but not replace the need for) IB workshops.

ACT PYP Network

October 2, 2024

The ACT PYP Network provides a forum for collaboration for PYP schools in Canberra. We currently have 10 member schools; including:

– Radford College

– Holy Trinity Primary School

– Charles Weston School

– Red Hill School

– Forrest Primary School

– Canberra Grammar School

– Canberra Girls Grammar School

– Gold Creek School

– North Ainslie Primary School

– Miles Franklin Primary School

Network Coordinators meet each term to promote collaboration between PYP schools in Canberra.

Activities & services

The ACT PYP Network each year hosts regular opportunities for teachers to connect and learn through:

Term 1: Induction workshop for staff who are new to the PYP

Term 2: Job-Alike meetings

Term 3: Leadership masterclass and Keynote

Term 4: Teach Meet

 

ACT/NSW Heads Network

Activities & Services

The NSW/ACT Heads Network meets 3-4 times a year to discuss current and emerging issues from a head’s perspective. We would typically also have input from IB Schools Australasia and the IB Australasian/ Asia Pacific Manager.

The NSW/ACT Heads Network is an informal network of heads that provide collegial support.
