St Leonard's College is the leading independent, truly coeducational in Bayside Melbourne. We are committed to offering an education for life, and providing every student, from Early Learning to year 12, with the skills and personal qualities they need to be the best they can be. We offer a diverse curriculum, delivered by outstanding teachers in modern facilities, and complemented by extensive cocurricular opportunities in music, drama, sport, debating and more. What makes St Leonard’s unique however, is our approach to educating young people: an approach that considers the whole person – head, heart and soul – and develops the skills and attributes necessary to live as well-rounded, thoughtful and responsible members of society.
With over 40 years of experience delivering coeducational opportunities, we know that both boys and girls thrive when they learn and grow together. We offer genuine coeducation, with boys and girls learning alongside each other in an environment that truly reflects life beyond the school gates. In this setting out students gain an understanding of how different people think and act, as well as an appreciation that there can be more than one way to solve a problem. We believe that the best way to prepare young to people to succeed in the world is to offer a setting that mirrors real life.
Our pastoral structure ensures each and every student is known, nurtured and loved at every stage of their educational journey. Our innovative mentoring program runs throughout a student’s entire life at the College, from their first day of school to their final exam preparation in year 12. Each student is assigned a mentor: a teacher who meets regularly with the student, closely monitoring their academic and pastoral progress and establishing a strong partnership with their parents. Counsellors, chaplains and other pastoral staff are also on hand to assist with any issues relating to student wellbeing, and mindfulness practices are embedded in the program at every year level.
