Position Overview

We invite applications from enthusiastic and experienced educators with the ability to teach Years 11 and 12 Chemistry and Years 7 to 10 General Science. This position involves working with an experienced team of teachers in the delivery of Years 11 and 12 Chemistry and General Science from Years 7 to 10. Experience in teaching IB Chemistry would be looked upon favourably but is not essential.

The successful applicant will be passionate about teaching Science and have an excellent knowledge of current practice, effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Personal Requirements

  • be a Chemistry specialist
  • be a passionate and enthusiastic Chemistry teacher
  • be experienced in teaching Chemistry from Years 7 to 12 (VCE or IB)
  • be competent in the use of ICT to enhance the learning process
  • be an effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • be able to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • be interested and skilled in curriculum development
  • demonstrate the ability to work and plan cooperatively with staff
  • create a learning environment that fosters trust and respect, encouraging each girl to engage in the learning process, and cater for a range of abilities and learning styles
  • ensure personal and professional development is ongoing and keep abreast of State, National and International curriculum initiatives in Science secondary education
  • have current VIT Registration
  • actively support the Christian teachings and ethos of the College
