About the Role

The position of Learning Support Teacher will deliver an intervention program in a way that fosters the pursuit of excellence and the attainment of each student’s potential. 

As an inclusive educator, the Learning Support Teacher will be responsible for enhancing the skills of teachers and other professionals involved in developing positive learning environments and rich educational opportunities for students with diverse educational needs. 

About You

You are dedicated, passionate, and possess the following:

  • Extensive experience in developing and implementing evidence-based literacy and numeracy, teaching programs, and resources that meet the needs of students ELC-Year 6 with a range of additional needs at Tier 3;
  • A relevant Graduate or Postgraduate Special or Inclusive Education and teaching qualification
  • An ACT teacher’s registration through the ACT TQI
  • A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Knowledge of positive teaching practices to support students’ engagement in lessons
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated organisational and administrative skills
  • Knowledge of the Australian Curriculum; Disability Discrimination Act (1992); Disability Standards for Education (2005) and the AITSL standards for professional teachers.
  • Psychology qualifications are desirable
