Early Childhood Creative Arts Educator (Fixed term- part time 24 hours per week, across 5 days)

The Friends’ School, Hobart is a leading Independent School in Tasmania, teaching students from Early Learning to Year 12 across the PYP, IBDP, TCE and Australian Curriculum, under the auspices of The Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). We are seeking to appoint a knowledgeable, caring and highly motivated Early Childhood Educator to join our dynamic and innovative Early Learning team, providing early learning programs for children from 12 weeks through to a Kindergarten program for three-to-four-year-olds. This role supports our children in the Three Year Old Kindergarten Group with learning in the creative arts.

You will be working as part of a collaborative team to support children’s learning and development in creative play-based learning programs. You will also be part of a team that provides Before School Care each morning. Alongside our Quaker values and the Early Years Learning Framework, our Centre implements the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program and is informed by the principles of Reggio Emilia.

Applicants must possess a minimum of a Certificate III in Children’s Services. Knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia, My Time Our Place and National Quality Standard is central to this role. An interest in the Reggio Emilia Approach and experience in the creative arts is desirable.

Our Early Childhood program embraces the IB PYP, the EYLF and the Reggio Emilia Approach. Knowledge of these would be desirable but is not essential.

This role is offered at 24 hours per week, commencing on Friday 5 January 2024 until Monday 23 December 2024, with the scope to also undertake casual work to meet the rostering needs of the Centre.
