Teacher of English (years 7-13)

We are seeking to appoint a talented and motivated English Teacher to teach in our Middle (7-10) and Senior (11–13) schools.  Literacy development is important in this role which is a full time, permanent appointment commencing no later than April 2024, sooner if possible.

We offer dual pathway options for senior students, i.e. NCEA or the IB Diploma.  We are also authorised to deliver Middle and Primary Years Programmes.

Applicants should have:

  • A current NZ practising certificate and preferably the right to work in New Zealand
  • Excellent general English teaching experience and a flair for literature and creativity
  • A passion for English and the ability to inspire students
  • Superior communication, interpersonal, organisational and time management skills
  • A desire to foster excellence
  • The ability to promote learning and a passion for education
  • The ability to be supportive of focused change
  • A commitment to our special character and co-curricular programmes
  • A commitment to the College’s desire to promote international mindedness and multi-cultural understanding, and the wellbeing of students
  • Experience teaching IB would be advantageous
