Preshil is a coeducational, secular, and private school in Kew, Melbourne, welcoming children from kindergarten through to the completion of their secondary schooling in Year 12. Founded in 1931, it is Australia’s oldest progressive school, and has played an influential role in the development of progressive pedagogy globally. The Preshil approach to schooling emphasises the relationships between teachers and students that engages children’s intrinsic desire to learn and does not use the fear of failure or the threat of punishment to motivate them.
