Queensland Academy for Health Sciences is a Queensland Department of Education High School situated in the heart of the vibrant Gold Coast. We are currently offering a development opportunity for a passionate and engaging Senior Biology Teacher to join our team of innovative and strengths-based teaching professionals providing transformative educational outcomes for our students. Queensland Academy for Health Sciences (QAHS) offers highly capable students in Years 10 to 12 the opportunity to study the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program in state-of-the-art facilities located at Southport in the prestigious Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct.

The excellence of our scientific academic and research capabilities was again apparent in 2023 with QAHS students awarded 8 of the total 9 Gold Crest Awards given nationally by the CSIRO for the 2023 year, and QAHS now accredited as having been awarded 75% of all prestigious CSIRO Gold Crest Awards ever awarded nationally.

As a passionate educator, you will have enthusiasm, zest and a willingness to engage students of Senior Biology in a committed, creative and positive way to promote optimal student outcomes. You will be highly skilled in evidencing your sound knowledge of Senior Biology, and will also possess advanced capabilities in relation to biological processes on a molecular level. You will be fully supported in training if required, to assimilate your knowledge in the curriculum specialities of the International Baccalaureate Diploma.  You will be able to articulate and purposefully link scientific outcomes to practical and global contexts, and have a passion and enthusiasm for scientific research and enabling real world science-based experiences with academic and industry innovators. Ideally you will be energized by engaging with all students of the Academy in a wide range of extra-curricular activities to promote wellbeing, connection and global perspective.
