MLC are looking for an experienced tradesperson to join the facilities team on a permanent basis.

MLC School is looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working Facilities Officer who will support our vision to educate and inspire young women to be fearless thinkers with moral courage and compassion to be agents of change in their own lives and in the lives of others.
 
About MLC School
Founded in 1886, MLC School is an independent, nonselective Uniting Church school for girls from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 in Sydney’s inner-west.  Our tagline ‘dare to be more’ is not only our goal for our students, it applies equally to our staff.

About the position
The Facilities Officer will perform a wide range of repairs, minor project works and maintenance of buildings. The role provides some back up, technical assistance and support to the Assistant Facilities Manager and Facilities Manager. The Facilities Officer provides an outstanding level of service to the school undertaking varied requests as required.
 
About you
You possess a broad and extensive repertoire of skills to be able to cope with a variety of maintenance issues. You have handyman capabilities, an ability to use a variety of tools, and are able to work at various school locations including at heights. You have previous hands-on facilities officer experience and trade qualifications in a relevant discipline.
 
 
Selection Criteria:
  • Trade qualifications in a relevant discipline, e.g. electrical, air conditioning, carpentry, plumbing or similar etc.
  • Experience in construction or maintenance industries.
  • Current driver's licence minimum class C (LR or higher is desirable)
  • Experience in the identification and mitigation of WHS risks in a school environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships within the Facilities Team and wider School community.
  • Work Health and Safety qualifications.
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check
