Visual Arts Assistant

In this varied role the Visual Arts Assistant will assist with the practical arrangements for Visual Arts (VA) lessons to help prepare, curate and display student artwork. This could be one day a week or possibly two mornings a week.

Who will the successful applicant be?

  • A person with a ‘design eye’ in order to sort, prepare, create and curate displays of Visual Arts work to meet a standard for ‘public viewing’, and effectively and efficiently dismantle VA displays
  • Possess an understanding of the processes and tools involved in various Visual Arts projects in order to set up lessons (pottery, screen printing, plaster sculpting etc)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the VA Teaching Team as part of a team
  • Ability to work independently and take the initiative in decision-making where it is appropriate
  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude and strong organisational abilities
  • Effective communication skills that demonstrate honesty, integrity, and authenticity
  • A person who has the capacity to think about the development of the whole student and a willingness to actively contribute to the sound management of pastoral care in the School
