STEM Primary teacher – St John’s Campus

Monday 22 July 2024 – Friday 11 April 2025 (Term 3 2024 – end of Term 1 2025)

This position is for a knowledgeable, dedicated and passionate Reception – Year 6 STEM teacher.

The position requires the capacity to teach Reception – Year 6 and knowledge of the Australian Curriculum will be important in this role. Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme would be advantageous.

The teacher’s priority is to ensure that learning and teaching encourages student engagement and is carried out within the context of the Mission, Vision and Values of the College.

The ability to design and implement authentic concept driven units of work which encourage inquiry is essential to this position.

The successful applicant will have knowledge of Science, Mathematics, Design Technologies, Digital Technologies and Information and Communication Technology.

Knowledge and understanding of innovative learning approaches, including inquiry-based learning, is essential.

Knowledge of and skills with using iPads is essential.

Knowledge and skills in primary school level coding and robotics, including apps or hardware such as Scratch, Makers Empire, 3D Printing, Spheros and/or BeeBots would be beneficial.

Provide co-curricular opportunities for students, as appropriate (for example, Science Club, Oliphant Science Awards, Coding Club etc).
