  • Recognized teaching qualification and current Victorian Institute Teaching (VIT) teacher registration are mandatory.

The School is looking for suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of IB MYP Coordinator to commence in Term 4, 2019/Term 1, 2020 (Negotiable). The IB Coordinator at Oakleigh Grammar will fully embrace and implement the innovative teaching and learning practices for which the International Baccalaureate is known as described by the International Baccalaureate Programme Standards and Practices, and MYP Principles to Practice and documents.

Under direction of the school Principal, the ideal incumbent will manage the IB Middle Years Programme to provide an atmosphere and environment conductive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of individuals to ensure Success for every student. He/she will work in coordinating with MYP teachers on planning & developing the curriculum framework across content areas as well as integrating the Learner Profile traits into each classroom. The coordinator is seen as an invited member to the School Leadership Team and will effectively work with administrators, teachers, students, and community to ensure the fidelity of the IB philosophy and requirements as well as the integration of the IB program into the traditional school.  Depth of knowledge of IB Programs; experience teaching within an IB World School and/or graduates of an IB World School strongly preferred.

  • Recognized teaching qualification and current Victorian Institute Teaching (VIT) teacher registration are mandatory.
  • Successful classroom teaching experience preferably in an International Baccalaureate Middle Years School.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including team building and leadership.
  • Sound working knowledge of the IB MYP curriculum, pedagogy and assessment.
  • Sound working knowledge of the Australian Curriculum requirements.
  • Sound administrative and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing demands and priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a passionate team of staff to deliver a range of effective learning experiences of all students.
  • Computer skills as required for the position. Ability to employ business technology tools (Emails, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.)
  • A proven capacity to improve student learning and promote academic excellence.
