Learning Leaders have responsibility for leading and embedding pedagogical change within the Primary School setting; focusing on the provision of a positive learning environment that values and engages students, empowering them to attain high levels of achievement, to continually improve their learning and to be ready for the world.
Learning Leaders will work as part of Department and Cohort teams to devise curriculum, promote effective teaching practices, and to lead conversations focused on evidence of student learning which enables continual enhancement of professional practice.
Learning Leaders will act as coaches for other educators; providing feedback, support to refine practices and examination of student results to inform forward planning and teaching. Learning Leaders are part of the Primary School Leadership Team and Academic Team and as such, the nominal time allowance is 0.8 per cycle with a nominal teaching load of 0.2 per cycle. It is expected that they be in attendance for up to three days of each of the stand down periods at the end of Terms One, Two and Three and for the week prior to the start of school year for teachers and a week at the end of the academic school year.
